to find them – again this depends on the version, i have cs3 – on the right hand side of the screen with the default windows open, the 4 box down in the skinny row next to the navigator tab is brushs, click on that and it will be up a brush adjustment window. in the top right corner of that window you will see a + and three lines, click on that and it will bring up your brush library. search for the folder or set of brushes you want and click on it. it will promt you to say yes to make the change, say yes, and voila, there they are.

i have found if you import from within photoshop, sometimes they disappear so i dont do it that way anymore.

@roof- there are a few different ways, however not all work all the time. the most reliable way that i found is to insert the file directly into your photoshop files. the directions vary depending on the operating system. i have win7, and this is how i do it, if you know enough about computers you should be able to reconfigure to any older version as well.

note- steps are separated by a ‘-’, and there is an assumed ‘click on/double click’ before each location.

start – computer – local drive c – program files x86 – adobe – adobe photoshop – presets – brushes = not leave that window open

download the brush file you want, save to your desktop. open the saved folder if applicable, then drag the abr file over to the previously opened photoshop window. also re-name them to make it easier to locate in photoshop. once you are finished tranferring all files, close the window, restart your computer, then open photoshop.

@beaman – CS4 is compatible with all older verisons, you can downgrade, just not upgrade i.e. if you had CS and wanted to use something created in cs3, it wouldnt work.

Sorry for the stupid question….I am a beginner at this! I have photoshop cs4. is there any way to make these compatible?
