Description:
I used stock images of wallpapers from http://sxc.hu to convert into tiling patterns for use in Photoshop. Use these to create those cool floral-style wallpapers you’ve seen used in web templates such as http://blog.neuroflux.net or for a bit of a gothic or retro effect in your artwork.

There are 3 designs, each with a medium size and small size of the pattern.

To use these, download the file directly into DRIVE:\Adobe\PhotoshopXX\Presets\Patterns and then reboot Photoshop if you have it open. Use the paint bucket tool set on Pattern to use these.

I too would like to use one of these patterns in my work…has anyone actually received permission to use these or will i have to do as Spencer suggests and make my own pattern from the stock image?

Nice designs…. Get of your high horse… you all are here for free stuff. If any of you respected the intellectual property of these people you would be paypaling them cash everytime you made a flyer for your crappy garage band. The person who posted on sxc did so knowing that people come to get stock photos from that site.

I second Spencer’s statement Emily. Nothing to do with you buddy. ;)

Emily, my comments were directed at the ‘creator’, not you.

I am so confused. Why is it wrong to ask permission to use these? Is Spencer’s comment directed at me or at the creator? I haven’t stolen anything or used anything without the creators permission and I am honestly confused by the controversy here. I just wanted to use the pattern behind a few photos – I wasn’t going to sell it or post it elsewhere.

I don’t believe any of us should have to ask permission, you aren’t the only one doing this, it is wrong to "steal" "revise", tne RE-PUBLISH! For the hell of it, I will ask for permission now just to keep the drama out of it. May I use for my layout sites?

I make band flyers for upcoming shows, may I use these?

I agree with Spencer. It’s ridiculous that you would request such a thing, especially considering the source. Then consider AGAIN that the person from sxc took the photo of SOMEONE ELSES wallpaper design… So thanks for doing this, I do appreciate it – but it really is cheeky asking for PERMISSION to use something that you lifted, from someone else who lifted it.

I think it’s pretty darn cheap of you to use FREE, royalty-free images, adjust them slightly, then re-post the images on another FREE stock web site yet withold permission to use them.

Just for the audacity of it I’m going to create exactly the same patterns from exactly the same images and give them away for FREE.

These are beautiful, I don’t see that you have a TOU. I am a photographer and I would love to use these patterns in conjunction with my photography (on cards and as textures around the photographs). Since I am paid for my photography I like to get permission. Can you let me know if this is ok?
