Well said, Nadz! :)

Nadz said 2 months ago at 06:03AM

Where were we before the so-called-claiming session took place? Did we wear Batik with pride as much as after UNESCO officially established it? Or did we feel more honourable wearing Nike, LV, Prada,…
Think globally, act locally. See thru urself. act, dont preach. for instance, i bet most of us forgot to put the credit on ur work after using this freebie.

The year 2009 is at the end of the line and we’re not done fighting yet? For the sake of peace, please stop this childish feud. It will only cause sadness and grieve. Let’s forget about what happened in the past and let’s get together again. After all, Malaysia and Indonesia are brothers. Let’s not fight. Please, for the sake of our future generation.

MALAYSIA4FUTURE said 3 months ago at 05:48AM

Sorry If I’m TOO MUCH. I’m just fed up with some Indonesian that always claim everything. All the facts admitted that the batik and several cultural heritage come from Indonesia but that’s happen hundreds years ago. And the local society that received that culture started to develop and maintaining that culture in their culture style. Malaysiann and Indonesian batik came from same root but expand in the different way. We’re not claim any cultural heritage from Indonesia. If the Indonesian busy claiming their culture, so Malaysia also can claim their language. Because, when come to the business matter and business trade, the Indonesian media keep yelling about "SERUMPUN" but not when come to the cultural matter. Although i’m hate the Indonesian because the claim, but i’m still helping them when people come to my office to ask for Jogjakarta Earthquake Fund because far inside from my heart, i’m still have my love for them.

btw, thx for the brushes. I love it!

Jakafe said 3 months ago at 12:03AM

Astagfirullah, this turns out to be an Indo-Malay verbal war, WHY?
Okay, MALAYSIA4FUTURE, lemme get this straight, so you think it’s wrong for a language to expand and morph as another nationality’s mother language, yes? Then we might as well sue everyone using English, French, Dutch, because they all came from German. You can’t make out a red line between language and cultural heritage. Your GOVERNMENT (Again, NOT people) claimed the Parang pattern (originated from a city called Solo, in Indonesia) as of Malaysian origin. No adjustments, no derivation, no alteration. PURELY PUT as it is, and claimed as it is. That, my friend, I think, is wrong. What would you feel if we suddenly claim that the Malaysian Bamboo Dance (Magunatip) was Indonesian? Pissed off? Feel like burning our flag? Thought so.

MALAYSIA4FUTURE said 3 months ago at 04:12AM

if you said and claim that batik is 100% from indonesia, what happen if Malaysian claim that your national language?? 4 yr info, the Bahasa Indonesia is originated from Bahasa Melayu Riau. Bahasa Melayu Riau originated from Bahasa Melayu Johor. And JOHOR is in MALAYSIA!!! So, STOP USING OUR LANGUAGE!!! just use one of your tribe language such as BAHASA JAWA, BAHASA BUGIS and all your trash languages!!! The Indonesian must admit that 400 years ago, there is no boundaries, so INDONESIA and MALAYSIA is not EXIST!!! Please dont blame us if your ancestor come to MALAYSIA at that time because they come to MALAYSIA to seek protection from the unstable politics that happen since thousands years ago in your country…. WHAT IS IMPORTANT, PLEASE STOP FROM STEALING OUR BAHASA MALAYSIA!!!!!

I agree with you dude, anonymous from Malaysia. I’m an Indonesian, yes, I hate when you guys start proclaiming our existing culture to be yours. I hate when I see your enigmatic malaysia campaign on the Discovery Chanel.
But all I want to say is that after all, we don’t have to hate each other. It just some misunderstanding and there are just some people, not the whole nation who’s bad.
We’re all family. I used to scream when I see that culture conflict thing. But let’s forget about it, not all the malaysian are bad. We came from the same race after all. :D

Peace from Jakarta, Indonesia

anonymous said 5 months ago at 11:18PM

No, Aroi. But i have Indonesian blood. My grandfather is an Indonesian. I have families in Indonesia. Some of my relatives died in the Banda Aceh incident, the tsunami. See? What i’m saying is there’s no point of arguing because we’re all family.

aroi said 5 months ago at 05:42PM

really great! are u indonesian?

anonymous said 5 months ago at 08:06AM

i never heard my relatives in Medan complaining about this ‘claiming heritage’ thing. Even my relatives and families in Sumatera didn’t say much. Why are you so fussy about it? Chill out. Again, there’s no point arguing about it. If you still want to argue about it, then di sini saya ingin meminta maaf kepada kamu. Maafkan saya,om.

anonymous said 5 months ago at 08:01AM

FYI, Terang Bulan is actually Hawaiian. And we did not claim tarian pendet to be our heritage. Blame Discovery Channel. Not us. They’re the ones who came here and do documentaries. And dude…. did you know that your ‘murtabak kacang’ over there is apam balik over here? Did you hear us complaining about it?

ryuuku said 5 months ago at 02:40AM

Dear DJ,

I’m sorry if you hate Malay people. Really i am. But you must remember, we’re neighbors. My relatives are from Medan and Mandailing. My grandfather is an Indonesian. I am proud to be a Tanjong. How’s that? You cannot hate the entire Malay people just people you ‘claim’ that we steal your culture. Indonesian people are also Malay people, did you realize that? So let’s not fight and let’s be friends and neighbors ok? Besides, we have our own batik styles that we are proud of too.

Nice work Bro..
I hate Malay people for stealing Indonesian Culture..
Malay people originaly dont have any culture.. they steal from Java, Minang, and Kalimantan Culture, which is part of Indonesia.

Go To Hell you Malay People..!!!

Jakafe said 9 months ago at 01:25PM

Hyde, I suggest that if you don’t know anything about the copyright infringements that the Malaysian government is doing towards a lot of Indonesia’s cultural assets, then you really should reserve any judgements. Anyways, I’m not gonna discuss it here, for all I know, it’s gonna be an endless rant if this continues.

Hyde said 10 months ago at 07:05AM

argh.. Indonesian always claim all Malaysian cultural things originally from them….
It doesnt matter..from where..this is one of ART.. lets sharing

Jakafe said 10 months ago at 04:34AM

Absolutely, for me, Batik IS Indonesia. Period. The Malaysian government’s attempt to make it look as if they invented the Batik process is just beyond HILARIOUS, LAUGHABLE and PATHETIC. Sorry Malays, I don’t hate your people, I hate your government’s non ethical gesture towards some of our cultural heritage.

DILLA said 10 months ago at 02:59AM
