Thanks It works now, I didn't know about that feature before. I should do some reading up on Photoshop.
Yes. The file needs to be 300kb or less. When you save your image in photoshop choose the "Save For Web" option to get the file size down and then you should be able to upload it fine if it's under 300kb.
The preview that wouldn't upload correctly was the one that uses the light box (when the user wants to see a larger preview). I uploaded the file under 1mb but it kept giving me an I/O error.

I would but I think you'll need to set standards first like sizes. Most are in 3 size categories, 100, 256 and 512 pixels square. Some go smaller than 100 too. I'd gladly share them but I'd probably need to clean & standardize them a bit first and put them into groups of OS, social media, app, etc...etc... Just an idea. Could be good for website builders to come and grab groups of icons at a time, a whole set with a theme (like my grunge) at a time. Certainly your call, it's your site/bandwidth to waste/lose.
If I add one, will you share all those?
